OUR TEAM
Simi Kasakwe
Business Coordinator/Founder I have had a passion for mental health and community wellness my entire life and live to make people happy. Struggling with mental health myself, I know how alone that can make someone feel. If I can take that loneliness away from just one person, it will all be worth it.
Working for a Mental Health nonprofit has always been my dream, but I never thought I would be the one to get it off the ground. Motherland Health was founded on the idea that mental health is not a luxury that only the wealthy should be able to afford. As a mother of 2, I'm able to bring my kids to work with me when needed and encourage my team to do the same. My goal is to one day open another Motherland Health in rural ND and rural MN so that those in smaller towns can also have the opportunity for positive change. |

Community Resource Manager I have always had the selfish need to help others and enjoyed working with individuals from all walks of life. I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field, as well as dealing with mental health issues in my own life. I have experienced the impact that it has, not only on the individuals, but also family and community members. My goal is to help individuals and their families find and utilize the help and resources they need to live happy and healthy lives.

Mental Health Counseling Intern I recently moved to Fargo, North Dakota, for school, where I live with my two cats, Felix and Tiger. I am a preschool teacher at Lil Bloomers here in Fargo and I have loved every moment of it. I am currently in the second year of my master’s degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead in their clinical mental health counseling track and have my bachelor’s in human development. I have a huge passion for mental health and have wanted to work in the mental health field since I was young. I love helping people problem solve and finding ways to help them feel better. I have really enjoyed my counseling classes so far, and I cannot wait to start using what I have learned! I am excited to start this journey at Motherland Health and cannot wait to see where it takes me. When I am not in class or working, I love to read books from all genres. I also really enjoy hanging out with my friends and family.
